Q8. Do I need a Starlink Business plan, or does Residential work with the Peplink solution?

Both work. Starlink Residential, Business, and Priority plans are all compatible, and no special service tier is required.

Some networking solutions require a Starlink Business plan with a static IP because they cannot establish tunnels behind Starlink’s network restrictions. SpeedFusion does not have this limitation. It initiates an outbound tunnel from the router, allowing it to work with any Starlink service plan.

Q9. Do I need a subscription for SpeedFusion bonding features, or is it included with the hardware?

The SpeedFusion bonding feature is included with most Peplink routers. However, some entry-level models (BR2, BR2 Micro, B One, BR1 Mini) require a PrimeCare subscription or feature pack license to enable it.

SpeedFusion also requires a remote peer. Your choice of remote peer determines any ongoing costs:

  • Physical Peplink router (site-to-site): hardware only, no recurring cost.
  • FusionHub (self-hosted VM on AWS, Azure, Vultr, or on-prem): hosting costs only.
  • SpeedFusion Connect (Peplink-hosted cloud): subscription cost based on usage plan.
Q10. How is the Virtual WAN (VWAN) feature useful for the Starlink deployment solution?

To utilize multiple Starlinks, you may need more WAN ports than your router physically has. Most Peplink routers have a limited number of physical WAN ports, which can become a bottleneck in large deployments.

InControl is Peplink's cloud management platform. It gives you a single dashboard to monitor and configure all your bonded sites, whether you have 2 locations or 200.
